March 2nd – 7th 2025 Empty Spools Seminars, Asilomar Conference Grounds, Pacific Grove CA Spend the week with me at beautiful Asilomar. My week-long workshop is called ‘Reclamation!’ Build a quilt with reclaimed textiles that demand different preparation and piecing techniques than typical quilters cottons. You will learn methods to:
- Identify different fibers and fabric structures
- Dismantle garments and ‘harvest’ useable fabric
- Combine varied textiles in one quilt
- Accurately piece, appliqué and and layer even the most challenging textiles
Our quilts will grow organically as we cover each technique. Traditional- modern- and art quilters will all gain new skills and discover the joy of reclaiming and sewing with unusual textiles.
